The Quilting Bee...Show and Tell

Joann (with Emmas help) shows off how far she has gotten on her quilting bee quilt. This quilt represents the journey to the western frontier. This class has been a lot of fun as we have learned about the women of the 1800's and how they dealt with the trek to the west.
The Quilting Bee is where we can meet, share information, socialize, trade fabrics, quilt and just have some fun. We meet the 3rd saturday of the month at 8 am.

Our western trail Reciept for this month was Beef Jerkey

1 flank or london broil steak
salt and pepper
1 cup soy sauce
aluminum foil (obviously not from the 1800's)

cut the steak inot strips with the grain of the meat. It is very important to cut along the grain or the cooked meat will fall apart into small pieces. Pour the soy sauce into a bowl and dip the meat strips in it. Lay the strips out on a piece of foil and sprinkle generously with salt and pepper on both sides. Place the strips on a metal rack in the oven with foil below to catch the drippings

Oven: 150 F
time: 10 hours
