Food Coloring with a cream cheese mint recipe




Food Colors? Whats the difference?

*Liquid colors are great for coloring frostings, punches, hard candy, ice cream and for even dying eggs.

* Powder coloring are for use in chocolates, dry mixes and other applications where water is prohibited. These colors are extremely potent.

*Gel food colors are ideal for a wide variety of cream based baked goods, candies, cookie dough, frostings and cream cheese mints.

RECIPE:
Cream Cheese Mints


Ingredients:
3 oz pkg cream cheese (room tempature)
2 1/2 C confectioners sugar
4-6 drops of LorAnn flavoring (mint flavors are good)
4-6 drops of food coloring
Granulated sugar

Instructions:

* Mix cream cheese and confectioners sugar together
* Start with 4 drops of flavoring and then carefully add flavoring and color as desired.
* Knead until pie dough consistency is achieved.
* Add sugar to make softer or decrease sugar for a firmer consistency.
* Take small pinch and roll into a ball in granulated sugar.
* Press into flexable mold, remove excess and unmold at once onto wax paper.
* Chill unitl ready to serve.
