Bead It FAQ

I get so many customers in the shop wanting to know how to wire wrap! The finished look of a wire wrapped piece gives the appearance that it is very difficult when in reality it is such a simple technique!
I’ll let you in on a little known secret: the only limit to wire wrapping is your own imagination! Learning to wire wrap simply means playing with it and seeing what you like. If your stone has a hole drilled in it, you can start by running a craft wire through the stone and making a wrapped loop at the top to create a bail. (I recommend the 20 gauge German wire by Bead-Smith, but we carry several different types and colors of craft wire.) Then it is a simple matter of bending, twisting, looping and zig-zagging the wire until you like the look. To end it you can bend the end of the wire over another piece of wire or just swirl the end into a curly-Q. It’s that easy!
