Appliqué towels
Have an Hour? You can make a cute appliquéd tea towel for yourself or a quick and easy one of a kind gift. All it takes is a “Wooden Bear Patternlet”, some wonder under, scraps of fabric, iron, and your ready to go. There is no limit to the fun designs you can make.
*Appliqué comes from the French word appliquer which translates to “put on”*
Fused appliqué is a simple way to decorate a kitchen towel or quilt by applying a cut out design by sewing or fusing one fabric(or layers) on to the top of a background fabric. You can appliqué by machine or hand using different methods.
Choose a design or pattern
Fuse the web to your fabric scraps
Transfer the design to the fabric
Cut out the design
Iron (fuse) the fabric design to the background fabric following the manufacturers’ instructions.
Blanket stitch or satin stitch around the edges of your designs
Stop in at SIERRA’S and choose from our appliqué patterns and other supplies. If you need some “Scrap” fabric, we can help with that too.
