fun canvas project



Supplies:
(1) 6 x 20 artist canvas
(9) 4 x 4 artist canvas
Vinyl saying of your choice
Mod podge
Acrylic paint

Directions:
Paint all canvas in the colors of your choice.
Apply a coat of mod podge to 4 x 4 canvas
Lay photo cut to size on top of mod podge, run finger or craft stick over picture to make sure there are no air bubbles under picture.
Apply a coat of mod podge over picture
Continue this process with all 9 canvas squares
When all the canvas is dry, glue them to the 16 x 20 canvas in pattern of your choice

Grand Old Flag Cake






Decorate a grand old flag cake. Perfect for that 4th of July cookout and other Patriotic celebrations. Accent old glory with shimmering piping gel and fresh summer fruit.

Basic Yellow Cake from wilton.com

Use this simple recipe to create a Basic Yellow Cake. This cake can be used in any cake, cupcake, loaf, or specialty pan. It provides a nice canvas for decorating and can be filled with your favorite filling.




Ingredients:
3 cups sifted cake flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoons salt
1 3/4 cups sugar
2/3 cup butter or margarine
2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 1/4 cups milk
Makes: Cake serves 12.

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease bottom of two 8-inch round cake pans and line with waxed paper or parchment paper. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt; set aside. Cream sugar and butter together until light. Add eggs and vanilla to creamed mixture and beat until thoroughly mixed. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition. Continue beating one minute. Spread batter evenly in prepared pans. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool layers in pans on wire racks 10 minutes. Remove from pans; cool completely. Fill and frost as desired.

India Ink





What is India Ink?

India Ink is also known as Indian or Chinese Ink. This black ink is made of carbon and has been in use since the ancient times. India Ink has become popular to use here since the early 20th Century. Today India ink is used for drawing and is the preferred ink for comic strips. It is still the traditional ink for Calligraphy.

Chipboard Modge Podge Frame

Supplies:

* Coordinating Paper
* Ribbon
* Modge Podge Glue
* Chipboard stickers or letters
* Brads
* 3 Coordinating paint colors (optional)
* My Minds Eye unfinished chipboard frame
* Distress ink (optional)

Directions:

1. Paint frame in different color sections, Let dry.

2. Cut sections of coordinating paper to cover sections of the frame.

3. Distress sections of the paper with distress ink.

4. Adhere paper to frame with modge podge, paint a thin layer onto frame and then attach paper to section. Let dry.

5. Modge podge over the paper section of frame. Let dry

6. Attach ribbon, stickers, brads to embellish

7. Add your favorite photos and ENJOY!!
