Supplies:
(1) 6 x 20 artist canvas
(9) 4 x 4 artist canvas
Vinyl saying of your choice
Mod podge
Acrylic paint

Directions:
Paint all canvas in the colors of your choice.
Apply a coat of mod podge to 4 x 4 canvas
Lay photo cut to size on top of mod podge, run finger or craft stick over picture to make sure there are no air bubbles under picture.
Apply a coat of mod podge over picture
Continue this process with all 9 canvas squares
When all the canvas is dry, glue them to the 16 x 20 canvas in pattern of your choice

Basic Yellow Cake from wilton.com

Use this simple recipe to create a Basic Yellow Cake. This cake can be used in any cake, cupcake, loaf, or specialty pan. It provides a nice canvas for decorating and can be filled with your favorite filling.




Ingredients:
3 cups sifted cake flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoons salt
1 3/4 cups sugar
2/3 cup butter or margarine
2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 1/4 cups milk
Makes: Cake serves 12.

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease bottom of two 8-inch round cake pans and line with waxed paper or parchment paper. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt; set aside. Cream sugar and butter together until light. Add eggs and vanilla to creamed mixture and beat until thoroughly mixed. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition. Continue beating one minute. Spread batter evenly in prepared pans. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool layers in pans on wire racks 10 minutes. Remove from pans; cool completely. Fill and frost as desired.

India Ink

What is India Ink?

India Ink is also known as Indian or Chinese Ink. This black ink is made of carbon and has been in use since the ancient times. India Ink has become popular to use here since the early 20th Century. Today India ink is used for drawing and is the preferred ink for comic strips. It is still the traditional ink for Calligraphy.

Chipboard Modge Podge Frame

Supplies:

* Coordinating Paper
* Ribbon
* Modge Podge Glue
* Chipboard stickers or letters
* Brads
* 3 Coordinating paint colors (optional)
* My Minds Eye unfinished chipboard frame
* Distress ink (optional)

Directions:

1. Paint frame in different color sections, Let dry.

2. Cut sections of coordinating paper to cover sections of the frame.

3. Distress sections of the paper with distress ink.

4. Adhere paper to frame with modge podge, paint a thin layer onto frame and then attach paper to section. Let dry.

5. Modge podge over the paper section of frame. Let dry

6. Attach ribbon, stickers, brads to embellish

7. Add your favorite photos and ENJOY!!

Canvas Message Center

Supplies:

3 Canvas Any size of your choosing

3 Coordinating fabrics

3 Yards of Ribbon

Brads

2 sets of hinges

Directions:

Lay fabric right side down. Lay canvas face down on top of fabric. Bring fabric up over side of canvas. Staple into place. Continue with all 3 canvas's. On Center canvas, criss cross ribbon in a basket weave pattern, and secure with staple. On one of the side canvas, use a piece of corrdinating fabric to make a pocket. Fold fabric in half. Staple onto bottom 1/2 of canvas. Embellish as desired.
using small hinges, make sure bottoms of all 3 canvas's are level. Secure hinges to canvas with screws.

Cuddle Receiving Blanket

Quick and easy Kits for a nice gift for a new mom or for that little girl to give to her "baby". We have the kits with the pre cut fabrics OR you can buy your own material and use these instructions to make your blanket.


Supplies:

30" x30" cuddle fleece fabric
3 strips of Fabric, 4 1/2 " X the width of fabric (apx 126")
Coordinating thread


Directions:

1. Stitch the 3 strips of fabric together at the short ends- making one long strip

2. at the ironing board, press 1/4" to 3/8" on each of the long edges of your fabric strip. Then fold the strip in half to create your "blnaket binding" The binding will be @ 1 3/4" wide

3. Carefully place the binding over the cut edges of the cuddle starting along an edge, not at a corner. Work your way around the blanket, pinning every few inches. As you reach the corner, miter the fabric creating a 45 degree angle fold at each corner, front and back.

4. Stitch the binding to the cuddle being sure to catch both the front and back side. Use a zig-zag, blind hem, blanket serpentine, or other decorative stitch. the width helps catch both sides.

5. Press and enjoy..

What is Acrylic Paint?? It is a fast drying paint containing pigment suspended in an acrylic polymer emulsion. Acrylic paint can be diluted with water, but become water resistant when dry. Directions:

1. Paint chipboard box & front + back of album and leather clasp enclosure with the Glitter paint (color your choice)

Paint one Coat, let dry.

2. Paint 2nd Coat. Let Dry

3. Choose the theme for your album.

4. Linfold album inside box, Cut paper squares to fit, Adhere with Glue

5. Add embellishments. we have several themes from minds eyes available that work great!

6. Punch holes in back of box and top side of the lid.

7. Punch one home in top of lid + corresponding hold in bottom of box. (for leather enclosure)

8. Follow directions on package to assemble leather closer and latch ( not as hard as it sounds)

9. Use ribbon and double stick tape to keep the album in the box.

Beading tool FAQ

Q: I am just starting to get into beading, what are some basic tools and supplies i will need to get started??

A: Although everyone has their own preferences as far as the tools they use, Most will agree that you need 4 basic tools to get started!

1. ROUND NOSE PLIERS to make loops on head pins and wires.

2. CHAIN NOSE or NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS to grip wire and open and close jump rings and looks. They are like an extension of your hand.

3. WIRE CUTTERS to cut your beading wire.

4. CRIMPING TOOL to secure crimp beads and tubes to your wire.

There are also some basic supplies that you may notice will come in hand as you are working with your beads.

* a bead reamer which is a round file used to enlarge or smooth the inside of a bead hole

* A bead mat which will allow you to spread your beads out on the table with them rolling around.

* A bead box which we all need to store our beads!

Father Day Glass Block

Cookie Dough Pie

2- 8 oz Cream Cheese
1 Egg
1 t Vanilla
1/3 C Sugar
1 Package Heath Pieces

Preheat oven to 325. Mix cream cheese, egg, sugar and Vanilla with mixer until creamy. Fold in 3/4 bag of heath pieces. Pour mixture into an Oreo pie crust and bake for 45 min or until center is firm.

Sprinkle remaining heath pieces on top of pie and let cool..

Serve and ENJOY!

Oil Painting

Art work is a great way to express yourself!

Traditional oil painting techniques often begin with the artist sketching the figure onto the canvas with charcoal or a "clean" which is thinned paint. Oil paint can be mixed with turpentine, linseed oil, artist grade mineral spirits or other solvents to create a thinner, faster drying paint. Then the artist builds the figure in layers. When looking at original oil paintings, the carious traits of oil paint allow one to sense the choices the artist made as they applied the paint. For the viewer, the paint is still, but for the artist the oil paint is a liquid or semi-liquid and must be moved "onto" the painting.

Traditionally, paint was transferred to the painting surface using paint brushes but there are other methods, including using palette knives, rags, ect. Oil paint dries by oxidation, not evaporation and is usually dry to the touch in a day to two weeks! Art conservators do not consider an oil painting completely dry until is it 60-80 years old.

It's Rhubarb Season!

Rhubarb Crunch

4 C. Finely diced rhubarb
2 T Cornstarch
1 tsp vanilla
2 C sifted flour
2 C brown sugar
3/4 C Sugar
1 C Water
1 C melted butter
1 1/2 C quick oats
2 t cinnamon

Place Rhubarb in 9 x 13 cake pan. Cook sugar, cornstarch, water and vanilla. Pour over rhubarb. Combing remaining ingredients. Sprinkle over Rhubarb. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until done.
